オハイオ・シティにあるモモチョというメキシカン・レストラン／バーにずっと行ってみたかったのですが、ついに先日行って来ました。モモチョはちょっと変わったメキシコ料理を出しており、雰囲気は東京にあるバーのような感じで、仕事帰りの若い人たちで賑わっていました。
最近は東京暮らを思い出す日々で、飲みに行きたいなあと思っていたので、モモチョの雰囲気はそんな気分を丁度良く満たしてくれました。カルニータというビーフシチューにタコスが付いて来たようなものとマルガリータを注文したのですが、マルガリータはなかなかおいしかったのですが、期待していた料理はさして印象に残るという程ではありませんでした。
たまに飲みに行くには良いバーだと思うのですが、食事が目的の時にはあえてこれからモモチョに行くことはないだろう思います。火曜日から金曜日の５時から６時半はハッピー・アワーがあり、マルガリータとタキトスという料理は半額になりますので、行ってみたい方は是非その時間を狙って試してみてください。

I've been interested in Momocho in Ohio City for quite a while because many of my friends said their food is great. I finally made it the other day. Momocho is a Mexican Restaurant/ Bar which offers contemporary Mexican food. The bar almost looked like a bar in Tokyo or Manhattan, and the place was full with young professionals, who dressed in business suites.
Momocho and the people there reminded me of Tokyo and Manhattan, and the night at Momocho actually calmed down my homesick a little bit because I had missed the nights hanging out with friends in Tokyo and Momocho satisfied the feeling. I ordered a glass of margarita and a plate of carnita there. Their margarita was pretty good, but their carnita, sort of like a beef stew with soft tacos, was not so impressive. Maybe, my expectation was too high.
I want to come back to Momocho for a glass of margarita, but not for their food. You can enjoy 1/2 priced margaritas and taquitos during happy hour, so I recommend you to try it between 5 pm and 6:30 pm from Tuesday to Friday.
