I finally found decent Asian sweets that I could be very happy with at Mountain River Pâtisserie. I tasted their cheese cake and castella, Japanese honey sponge cake. I really enjoyed both of them. The cheese cake was rich and smooth, and the sponge cake was moist and delicate. The quality is as good as that of famous pastry shops in Tokyo. The pastry chef was trained by a Japanese master and acquired Japanese style cake making. However, he doesn’t dare to say his cakes are Japanese style because he developed his own cake style by mixing Japanese tradition and his own ideas such as using purple sweet potatoes and Hong Kong style milk tea in his pastries. The wife of the pastry chef is in charge of art direction, and all the packages are beautifully designed to make perfect gifts. I can’t wait to go back there to try another cake.
お金を出しても食べたいと思えるスウィーツのお店をやっとブリスベンで見つけました。それは Mountain River Pâtisserieです。日本の職人さんにトレーニングを受けた、香港人のお菓子職人さんが一つ一つ丁寧に手作りしているので、クオリティは日本のデパ地下と同じがそれ以上！チーズケーキとカステラを食べましたがチーズケーキは濃厚、カステラは繊細且つフワフワで、嬉しい大きめサイズです。抹茶、ごま、ほうじ茶など和のフレーバーに加え、紫いもや香港のミルクティーなど世界中から美味しいもの柔軟に取り入れた創作が特徴です。旦那様がお菓子職人で、奥様がお店のアートディレクションを担当しており、パッケージもとてもおしゃれです。海外ではなかなか見つからない、お土産にぴったりな、お菓子です。
C’est la meilleure pâtisserie asiatique que j’ai trouvée à Brisbane. J’ai gouté leur gâteau au fromage et la génoise japonaise. La qualité était merveilleuse! C’était aussi bon que les gâteaux que j’aurais pu trouver dans les pâtisseries connues à Tokyo. Le pâtissier vient de Hong Kong et il a appris cette compétence culinaire avec un maître japonais. Il melange les gâteaux japonais traditionnels et les ingredients intéressants comme le thé au lait de Hong Kong pour achever ses propres créations. Les emballages sont très beaux et bien présentables. Si vous les donnez à quelqu’un comme un cadeaux, je suis sure que vos amis les aimeront sans exception!
