What I like about living in Brisbane is that we have great access to Japanese grocery stores. You can easily make homemade sushi and miso soup, or something even fancier like a celebrity chef dish with magic ingredients such as shichimi, shiokoji or yuzu. I would like to introduce you to my favorites today.
ブリスベンに来て驚いたことのひとつは、日系スーパーはもちろん日本の食材を扱っているお店が多いことです。海外では手に入り難い食材も結構見つかります。今回は私が通う日本の食材を買えるお店をご紹介したいと思います。
Il y a beaucoup d’épiceries qui vendent des produits japonaises à Brisbane et c’est plutôt facile de faire de la cuisine japonaise. Je vous présente mes marchés japonais préférés aujourd’hui.

This is the biggest Japanese supermarket in town, and it has the most extensive collection of Japanese products. You can buy something particular like yuzu kosho (Japanese citrus condiment) and fresh yuba (tofu-sashimi, so to speak). They also have the widest range of sake (rice wine), which can be a reason for some people to visit.
日本のものなら一通り揃う、ブリスベンで一番大きな日本のスーパーです。調味料はもちろん、干物、生湯葉、柚子胡椒など手に入り難い食材も扱っています。日本のお酒の品揃えも市内随一で、友人を和食でもてなす時はここにやってきます。
C’est le plus grand supermarché japonais à Brisbane. Vous pouvez trouver des ingredients rares comme le yuzukosho (un assaisonnement fait de piment, d'écorce d’un agrume japonais et de sel) et le kudzuko (une poudre d'amidon faite d'une plante qui s’appelle kudzu). Ils ont la plus grande collection de sake aussi. Ça peut être une bonne raison pour leur rendre une visite.
Genki Mart (Alderley, CBD, Tarragindi, and Indooroopilly) https://genkimart.com.au
This is a small yet genuinely Japanese market. They have a good selection of popular Japanese groceries such as miso, soy sauce, noodles, nori seaweed, and so on. A branch of Genki Mart recently opened in my neighborhood, and it has made such a big difference! I cook Japanese dishes more often than ever, and little Japanese treats from this store keep me happy.
小規模ですが、店内は日本の製品で埋められ、日常的に使うものは大概手に入ります。家の近くにオープンしてから、和食を作る回数が増えました。
Ce supermarché japonais est plutôt petit, mais ils vendent ce qu’on a besoin pour faire de la cuisine japonaise. Il y a quelques Genki Marts à Brisbane. L’un d’eux a récemment ouvert sa porte tout près de chez moi. Ça a fait une grande différence! Je cuisine des plats japonais plus souvent qu’avant grâce à ce petit magasin.
Hanaro Mart (Multiple Locations) https://www.hanaromartonline.com
Harano is a Korean market, but they also have Japanese stuff like tofu, daikon radish, and natto (fermented soy beans). We can also buy thinly sliced meat to make gyudon (beef bowl) and sukiyaki. Hanaro has more than 20 branches, and it’s not hard to find it somewhere close to you.
韓国系スーパーですが、海苔、納豆、豆腐に加え、大根、さつまいも、きのこ、冷凍の薄切り肉など和食を作るために必要な食材を扱っています。店舗数が多く、行きやすいのも嬉しいところです。
C’est un supermarché coréen, mais on peut trouver beaucoup des ingredients japonais comme daikon, tofu, des champignons asiatiques et de la viande tranchée finement.

Popular Japanese products such as curry paste, miso paste, sushi vinegar, and kewpie mayonnaise are available in the international section at Coles. This is probably the most convenient and practical place to get what you need.
インターナショナル・セクションで醤油、寿司酢、海苔、カレー粉、キューピーマヨネーズなど現地の方に人気がある食材を販売しています。コールズ・ブランドの味噌まであり、急に調味料が足りない時など、覚えておくと便利です。
Savez-vous que vous pouvez trouver des ingrédients japonais populaires comme le curry et le vinaigre pour le sushi dans l’allée dédiée aux produits internationaux chez Coles? Il y a le miso de marque de chez Coles qui m’a étonné et ce n’était pas mal du tout.

Daiso offers an array of both savory and sweet goodies, and they have good prices. I also like buying their chilled beverages such as Calpico and green tea.
日本のお菓子や飲み物を買うならここ。私が大好きな小枝チョコレートも売っています。他にも即席味噌汁などちょっとした食品を扱っており、良心的な価格も魅力です。
J’adore acheter les petites casse-croutes sucrée et salées chez Daiso. Ils vendent mon chocolat japonais préféré qui s’appelle koeda (la brindille). On peut acheter des boissons japonaises fraiches comme Calpico et du thé vert aussi.
